Multimedia Specialist

Dynamic Integrated Services (DIS) is currently seeking a qualified Multimedia Specialist to join our Strategic Communications and Integrated Marketing Practice. The Multimedia Specialist will have a minimum of 5 years expertise in video editing, motion graphics, storyboard development and/or web or graphic design capabilities. The Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for assisting our clients by creating media content in support of government communications and marketing campaigns.  Materials may include educational and training videos, television PSAs, the development of branded print, web and social media content including toolkits, banners, publications, and other web and printed documents.  The Multimedia Specialist shall be responsible for staying current on new and emerging technologies and shall support our clients in researching and developing new approaches to communication.

Essential Duties

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Develop custom multimedia videos ranging from 30 seconds to 30 minutes using a variety of approaches (e.g. talking head, testimonials, animation graphics, PowerPoint, photo montage, b-roll, white board, etc.)
  • Act as visual storyteller, offering creative solutions regarding the storyboarding, shooting and editing of projects based on written scripts or input from producer, director, and/or client, and ensuring quality control and consistency on final projects
  • Provide graphic design support and development on communications and marketing campaigns on projects and internal facing documents which may include custom graphics creation and materials development. Materials may include animations, videos, graphics, fact sheets, posters, web banners, icons, infographics, and diagrams depicting client programs, products or business work flow and/or processes
  • Remediate flash files, PDF documents, Web and Microsoft Office documents to meet VA 508 compliance standards and testing
  • Ability to design and construct web pages/sites including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other techniques. Maintains and provides ongoing design of company website, client SharePoint sites, intranets, promos, ad banners and seasonal content.
  • Think critically and apply customer and industry insight to solve client problems creatively and quickly
  • Ability to organize and coordinate complex projects and keep them on deadline and assist in management of project schedule, budget and other project documents
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to better serve our clients' needs and participate in proposal writing and business development
  • Actively network and build relationships with clients and partners to determine communication/social marketing/web/ graphic design needs

Skills and Qualifications

  • Skilled use of the software applications included in the most current version of Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign in support of video production, graphic design and other multimedia deliverables
  • Knowledge of web publishing and graphics applications required: Google Web Designer, Adobe DreamWeaver, Drupal, Wordpress, etc.; advanced knowledge of HTML
  • Strong graphic design skills and the ability to design and develop in multiple print and web mediums
  • Proficient in working with Captivate or software equivalent
  • Proficient with management/conversion of media file formats and archiving techniques
  • Strong understanding and ability to remediate documents to meet Section 508 standards
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to format reports, create templates, infographics, and diagrams
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and aligning new materials to existing branding guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work in team setting or independently
  • Must be able to deliver on multiple projects/priorities at the same time
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, naturally curious, analytical, and innovative
  • Highly creative and a willingness to explore new graphics and multi-media technology in producing innovative forms of content, such as infographics, 3D modeling and data visualization, to enhance the communications function and capability
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail with a commitment to client service excellence
  • Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates
  • Candidate should have the ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance, but does not need one to apply

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Photography, Communications, Media, or related field or equivalent work experience  
  • 5 years of experience working for a Creative Agency, PR/Marketing Agency, communications and marketing practice, government and/or government contractor, or non-profit
  • Prefer prior government contractor experience
  • Perform technical post-production and editorial functions for video or photography, including processing, delivery and archiving; importing, rough cuts, graphic design & integration, audio sweetening, color correction, fine cut and final delivery. Add metadata as needed.
  • Web experience preferred
  • HTML and CSS coding knowledge a plus
  • Experience with traditional and nontraditional social marketing and communications strategies including Web 2.0 / social media
  • Experience in health communications or with Veteran and military audiences
  • Experience shooting portrait, candid, and group photography; Command of modern digital still and video production, equipment and processes
  • Excellent samples of work must be available electronically for review
